Living Room Update

FOUR YEARS! Today marks 4 years since we moved to the farm. It’s went by so fast.

I want to share a transformation of the living room. When we looked at the house for the first time, I imagined ripping out the thick carpet, changing the curtains, painting the trim and painting the paneling. The curtains were the first thing to come down the night we signed our papers.

We ripped the carpet out, and now have Pergo flooring throughout the entire house. The floor works well on the farm, and with kids & a dog. It’s pretty & practical for us.

I added a large 10x14 rug. It makes the room so cozy and brings in some texture. It has so many different color variations in it. I love it.

My favorite furniture piece in the entire house is this massive cabinet. It was a Facebook Marketplace find. It used to be a large (ten foot wide!) general store cabinet. It actually had a topper, but once we had the top and bottom piece in the house, the top was just TOO much for our 8’ ceilings. When we bought it, it was an ugly orange color. I used paint stripper and bleached it all. The color now fits my style and I love it.

The living room looks a lot different (more us) than when we closed on our farm 4 years ago today.
